2012 Avril Taylor
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The Wine
Our newest release marks our third vintage to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon wine from the Napa Valley, and this is simply our best vintage yet. Lead by dark, lush fruit notes of black cherry and black raspberry, this is a full-bodied, cozy Cabernet Sauvignon that displays an unbelievable purity of fruit. With a mid-palate of melted chocolate, baking spices, and savory blackberry, this wine has a dense profile, but it's also balanced by a lively acidity. The result is a glazed mouthfeel with an extremely long finish that keeps going. Although this is an extremely inviting wine in its youth, it is capable of aging for an additional 10-15 years. .

The 2012 growing season was considered a perfect growing season for the Napa Valley. With ideal conditions at bud break and fruit set, the growing season stretched into a warm, lengthy summer without interruption. Fall rains appeared in late October giving vintners plenty of time to pick their grapes at optimal ripeness and in comfortable fashion.

Drink or Hold?
Our 2012 is extremely inviting and rich with flavors right now. We recommend enjoying this wine in the near future, however this wine has the tannins and acidity to help it age gracefully for 10-15 years.

For long-term wine storage, we recommend a storage temperature of 55-58 degrees fahrenheit. Since each individual has their own palate, it is important to note that during the aging process the fruit-forward component of this wine will deteriorate slowly each year. If you prefer a more fruit-forward profile, drink this wine now.
