The Wine
Our 2012 Avril Taylor Reserve is comprised of 100% Cabernet Franc from the Napa Valley. Since it’s bottling in 2014, our 2012 Avril Taylor Reserve was given the gift of time to evolve into a polished, complex wine. Time with-standing, this vintage doesn’t shy away its bold, dark-fruit profile consisting of black cherry and blackberries. Light notes of melted chocolate and baking spices contribute to the complexity of the wine from the twenty months that the wine spent in French Oak. This is a full-bodied wine with velvety tannins that have integrated seamlessly into its fabric. The result is a wine with a tremendous fruit profile, soft acidity, and an incredibly smooth finish.

The 2012 Vintage
The 2012 growing season was considered a perfect growing season for the Napa Valley. With ideal conditions at bud break and fruit set, the growing season stretched into a warm, lengthy summer without interruption. Fall rains appeared in late October giving vintners plenty of time to pick their grapes at optimal ripeness and in comfortable fashion.
